Anton Janér has assumed the position of Managing Director at Abios, the prominent esports data company.
Janér takes over from Oskar Fröberg, who is departing the organization he was instrumental in establishing. As co-founder of Abios alongside Fröberg in 2013, and previously serving as Chief Technology Officer, Janér possesses extensive knowledge and a profound comprehension of the company in his new role.
This shift follows Kambi Group’s purchase of Abios in 2021 for $17.2 million, a transaction orchestrated by Fröberg himself. Fröberg conveyed his assurance in Janér’s capabilities to guide Abios, affirming that he is the perfect candidate to assume leadership and guarantee the company’s ongoing achievements.
This strategic move is already yielding positive results, as Kambi recently incorporated Abios’s esports FIFA wagering product into their sports betting platform. They have even grander ambitions for the future, with esports games like NBA2K, CS:GO, and League of Legends slated to be available through Kambi’s platform soon. This robust collaboration currently encompasses a substantial volume of esports activity, documenting roughly 6,000 FIFA esports matches monthly.
