Swedish Gaming Authorities Scrutinize Trisskrapet Over Advertising Concerns

The Swedish Betting Organization (BOS) concurs with the Swedish Consumer Authority (KO) that the television program “Trisskrapet” constitutes advertising rather than editorial material. This differentiation is vital to ensure viewers recognize when they are being marketed to, particularly regarding gaming. BOS posits that upholding robust consumer safeguards within the Swedish gambling sector hinges on this clarity.

The Gaming Control Board of Sweden (GCBS) is urging Svenska Spel, the organization responsible for the well-known scratch-off game Trisskrapet, to incorporate responsible gaming notices on its offerings.

The GCBS maintains that Trisskrapet needs to present details regarding the minimum legal age for gambling (18 years old) and furnish assistance options for gambling addiction, as mandated by Swedish promotional and gaming regulations.

They contend that each Trisskrapet ticket vending without these cautions is harmful to the objective of a protected and reliable gaming sector in Sweden. The GCBS is ready to implement measures if Svenska Spel fails to adhere.

This represents the most recent action taken by the GCBS to advocate for responsible gaming. Previously this month, they also issued a declaration concerning a legislative proposal intended to tackle match manipulation in athletics.
