Betsson Champions Women’s Soccer as Exclusive Sports Wagering Partner for 2022 Copa América Femenina

Betsson is making a significant commitment to women’s soccer (football for our U.S. friends!) in the South American region. They recently secured the exclusive sports wagering partnership for the 2022 Copa América Femenina. This is a major development, as this competition is comparable to the Champions League of women’s soccer in South America.

This agreement grants Betsson premium branding opportunities throughout the stadiums, during media events, and across the tournament’s digital platforms. Additionally, they are backing the “Official Starting Lineup,” providing them with unique content and behind-the-scenes access.

Betsson’s chief executive, Jesper Svensson, expressed great enthusiasm for this collaboration. He views it as an avenue to champion both athletics and gender parity, particularly as the Copa América Femenina is setting a positive precedent with its substantial representation of women in executive roles.

This is not Betsson’s first venture in Latin America. They were a prominent sponsor for the men’s Copa América in 2021 and have been actively investing in the region’s sports betting landscape.

Juan Emilio Roa, a high-ranking official at CONMEBOL, the governing body for soccer in South America, expressed great satisfaction with Betsson’s sponsorship of the 2022 Copa América Femenina. He viewed it as a significant development for women’s soccer on the continent, particularly for a competition as prestigious as the Copa Libertadores Femenina. Roa emphasized that both CONMEBOL and Betsson share a common objective: to elevate the stature of women’s soccer in South America, inspiring greater participation and enthusiasm among girls and women.

This collaboration was established following the introduction of Betsson’s digital wagering platform in Buenos Aires earlier in the year.
